Adding work lights to RTV 1140

Hey...New here. Hoping for some friendly advice.

I have a year old RTV 1140 and would like to add some LED work lights for front and rear. Kubota dealer offers "kits" for $270-ish for front (2 lights) and $170-ish for a single work light. Seems spendy to me, but when I start looking for alternatives, the pieces add up fast. But more importantly, I worry that the installation of the off-brand gear might be more problematic than an OEM solution.

In my motorcycle touring days I added lots of low voltage aftermarket electrical gear...so I've dealt with running wiring, adding fuses, using power blocks and grounding, etc. Been a while, but I can get there.

Main question: How "plug and play" is the Kubota kit? Is there a fused plug ready to accept these add-ons or do I have to splice into existing wires for power?

What's your experience been?

Many thanks for your expert advice!!

The only machine that comes pre wired for the work light kit is the X1100. Your best bet is to go on Amazon and get lights that come with the whole harness assembly to make life easier for you.

Thanks Dave.

Is there a plug under the dash that is already powered/grounded and that will accept a added wiring kit for the lights? Or do I need to find a powered lead (maybe a switched lead like the headlights) and splice a positive lead into this? This would give my accessory lights power when the headlights were switched on. I'd have to run a ground wire to the frame or something else that would give me a ground.

A powered plug that was grounded already would sure make life easier.

Not sure about the X1140 but I know on the X900 there's a set of bullet connectors under the hood on the firewall that are switched with the ignition. The wires are black and green/black if I remember correctly.
