Hi guys. My BX has a little problem with the glow-plug light not coming on properly when you turn the key to the glow-plug position. I always have to toggle back and forth till it comes on. Sometimes it comes on the first time, and sometimes I have to toggle it back and forth . It happens all year (I'm in CT) and completely random. Luckily for me it has always come on eventually, but I'm afraid that one day It will stop working completely. This machine only has 350 hrs. Last time I searched this problem (Google) someone recommended that I replace the ignition switch. I did that and it didn't make any difference. Anybody have any ideas before I bring it to the dealer for repair. They are very busy right now. Thanks for any and all help, you guys are the best.

I have a similar issue (I think). My glow plug light quit working on my 2002 Grand L 3010. I had it to the dealer for something (can't remember what) and asked them to check it. They checked and said it's just the light. The glow plugs are working as intended. I could have the light part replaced for 125 or 150 (not sure which ...it's been this way a few years). Or I could simply hold the key in the position where the glow plug comes on, then start the tractor. They advised against buying the replacement light and I sure didn't want to spend over 100 bucks if I did not have to. Been operating that way for a number of years now. I've actually lost count. No issues. I just turned over 600 hours on this tractor, so it might have been near the 350 mark when it went out.
Hope this helps.

You know what, I never tried to start the tractor without the light coming on. It never occurred to me, that it was just the light, rather than the plugs working properly in spite of the light, because it was fairly new when this started happening. I just figured maybe a loose wire or connection, because it has always come on if I fiddle with it a bit. Gonna try it later, and report back. In hind sight I should have just notified the dealer when it was still new, but I had sooo much work to do with it and it has never prevented me from starting it. Thanks Doc (y)

Today I started my BX without the yellow glow-plug light coming on the dash. It was already hot outside so not sure yet if it's just a bulb/light or something else. It started fairly easy, but didn't roar to life like normal. Maybe I'm going to have to wait till it gets a little colder. Do diesel engines ALWAYS need glow-plug warming no matter what the outside temp?

My 2013 BX 2670 tractor, has a mechanical clicking noise, whenever i activate the glow plug. I rely on the clicking noise always and don't pay too much attention to the glow plug light. I always glow for at least 5 to 10 seconds. Hot or cold outside. 750 hours on mine. Best dependable tractor we own.

Oh, so that's what that clicking sound is, mine does that as well. I thought it was the fuel pump though.

Does your light not come on sometimes too?

And yeah, I really think this is the best tractor I've ever bought too ?

Actually the cliking sound is probably the fuel pump. I don't pay attention to see if the glow light is on or not. I will make note to look next time. LOL
