Got to fixing the rusted out floor on my RTV. A previous owner made a repair but I wanted a project to practice welding. Don’t judge the welds I’ll post the CAD file here in a bit so you can use it with a CNC or print it out. I used 12ga steel which worked nice and is solid. My center piece was in decent shape so I just cleaned it up and flipped it over.
Finished floor before plastics are put back on, don’t need showroom quality but I’m very happy with the solid flat floor now:
Where it started:
What was underneath:
Templates printed to check the fit of the model. I made an adjustment after this to make it match up perfectly to the original:
All of the old stuff cut out:
Pieces cut, the rest of the fenders I cut after these pieces were installed to measure off of them after they were on the RTV, the CAD has little divots on the edges where the fenders need to be bent:
After this it was just assembling, welding, and painting.
