kubota rtv900 snow plow choices

ok snow is around the corner, and i am thinking about a plow for my new rtv900. what do you guys recomend? i dont think i want to pay 4k for a v plow i think the boss would kill me.
 
My neighbor has the Boss V plow on his 900 and loves it. I have the Blizzard. It is very heavy duty and puts the Curtis plow to shame. I used the Blizzard last winter and bounced off of some stone walls. It didn't hurt the plow at all. It too is up there in price, right around 3 grand or a little more, installed.

I have just a genral light weight 60" atv plow on mine and love it! works with a small warn 1700lb winch cost used was about 350.00 and worth ever penny. As far as strenght I have hit a few things and not hurt it at all

POWERWAGON...Run with a blizzard on my 900 as well..It's a very robust unit with hydraulic lift and angle but like XTROOPER says, it ain't cheap
 
The Boss V plow is worth the price. I have a 1100, the Boss V is a nice match. Last season I hoped for a lot of snow. I was plowing wearing a shirt, had to dial the heat back. The heat almost drove me out of the cab. I just ordered a set of the cab lights, I forgot them last year.

That tube holds my homemade forks I will try to get you guys a picture they work really well, easy to adjust, easy on off!
 
I have a blizzard on my 1100. Best money I spent. I bought it on craigslist. You can find used ones all the time. Just look for a 680lt or 720lt and then u just need the kubota mount. Good luck
 
Will you be angling your plow all the time? If not American Eagle makes a much cheaper manual angle V plow that might work for you....it's a well built unit I just upgraded from my American Eagle straight blade and can't believe how much heavier the V-Force plow is.

Here's a few pics of mine installed....this is just the 66" plow since I have a 500 but they make a 72" as well. The do require a winch or the upgrade lift system to pick them up but you will still be out way less money than even a straight blade Kubota plow

I still can't get over how these little RTVs push snow, it's crazy how much power they have to go along with the excellent maneuverability I could easily put a V plow on my Super Duty as well but I really don't believe it could match my RTV for my plowing needs.:letitsnow:
 
I don't care for the 2" receiver mount, you're putting a lot of stress in a very small area. I would stick with choices that use a mount to the frame of sorts to spread the load out a bit. I'd be concerned with cracking using a large plow with a 2" receiver mount.
 
I would have to agree with DIXIEDOG. Unless you will be pushing snow under light conditions, I would not personally trust a receiver mount unit. The RTV would tear a plow designed for light application apart if you are working in heavy snow, ice and frozen obstacles buried in the snow. All depends on where and how it will be used and the conditions it will likely encounter. I use mine as part of my winter snow clearing business and have hit buried obstacles that have stopped the RTV dead in its tracks and a receiver mount would not likely survive for long in these conditions..Just my two cents worth.

It's pinned. To put the plow in a V you pull a quick hitch pin and angle it back to where it needs to go on each side. To angle the plow you pull back a spring loaded pin and swivel the plow.

There are red arrows pointing to the pins you would need to pull (this is just a picture of a Eagle V plow I found on the web and modified to show the pins)
