I have a whining or squealing sound coming from underneath my mahindra 1538 shuttle shift tractor. Does not do it unless tractor is in gear and moving. As soon as tractor is clutched it stops. Does it in forward and reverse. Does not squeal all the time but will occur often. Press clutch in or knock out of gear it stops then put in gear start moving and it starts squealing again in about a minute. Seems to be coming from rear half of tractor??

Assuming this is a 4WD tractor? If so, you might want to crawl under it and look at the driveline shield. It's probably the telescopic tube type. They are well known to cause a squeak or squeal if they get damaged, shoved sideways, etc during use in rough country.
