Today was maintenance day

I know I have already used the tractor to mow once so far, but today I had time to get it really ready for the season. The tractor got an oil/filter change, fuel filter change and all greased up. The MMM got the blades sharpened, greased and the deck scraped clean. The FEL got a good greasing too.

I used to do all my maintenance on my old Ford 1100 until I started to have problems with used petrochemicals storage. Now all I do is to just keep everything greased, leak free, and working. I hate letting the dealership now do the scheduled fluid/filter changes, but I do not know what to do that is environmentally correct , and workable with the used fluids :(. Jay

We can take used oil to any quick lube joint as long as it's under 5 gallons here. I don't know what I'll do when I change the hydraulic fluid.

A lot of auto-parts stores also accept oil, or used to around here. If they only take 5 gallons, take 5 gallons each to different stores, or 5 gals in every couple of days.

Thanks for the information :). I have seen those units; I just do not know at present who owns one locally (yet). Jay
