Straight line winds or EF-1 Tornado?

I spent the day on the CTL, exploding trees in the woods with the new brush cutter. Early this evening, my wife called on the phone and told me to get my donkey in the house, pronto. By the time I got up to the house, the bottom fell out of the clouds with a burst of rain. I hadn't been in the house more than 45 seconds and I heard a loud tree crack coming from my front yard. Within a few seconds, I heard another loud tree crack. I looked out the front window and I had 2 large trees on the ground. I check my security camera footage and found this:

I got a bit of tree cleanup to do when it dries up a bit. We have gotten a few inches of rain in a few hours.

I'm glad you have the equipment to do the cleaning up. The wind has been horrible here too. Strong and gusty with no rain this past week. Very unusual . We lost a few trees in the pastures that were over a hundred years old. They were old and weak but still sad to see them go. It did storm last night but just normal wind now.

Glad you got inside in time.
Sounds similar to what we had last year. Unfortunately, one of mine that fell came right through one of my buildings. :(

About 10 years ago, we had an ancient scaley bark hickory right next to the house. In a storm, it lost a massive branch, which landed on the roof of our house.. Had to have the roof replaced and I cut down any tree that was within the falling radius of the house.

I've been doing similar.
There's nothing that's big enough around the house to do much damage but I've been cutting back the trees near the building that got damaged.
Here's one (the one with the chain on it) that's around 60' high and it was less than 2' from, and leaning towards the building.
As you can tell by the tarp still on the roof, I haven't yet replaced the roof from the tree that fell inside but it's a good time to take down this one because if it goes wrong... A new roof is going on anyway.

Felled it perfectly.
