Just purchased rtv 900 se for work around property. Also own a l-48. Since I'm new to rtv do they run hot? tractor never gets there, suprised. Any feedback appreciated. Not working it hard only 11 hours on it.

There are some earlier posts about this subject, and I am sure that some of the more experienced RTV owners can offer more authoritative reflections. My own experience (about 40 hours so far) has suggested that the RTV tends to run in the top third of the temp guage--well short of the red zone, but also well on the hot side of the dial. So long as it is not slipping into the red, I have not seen any reason to be concerned.

Your post is not clear on this matter. Is your RTV in the red?

Just as Onfootsaid, the post is not really that clear, BUT, I can say, if it is not in the red, you are just fine !!!! The Temp guage like to have drove me and others crazy !!!!!

KEEP YOUR RADIATOR CLEAN,Pick up the seat, pull the mest out, clean it and spray out the radiator. Now, just becouse you think your meshis stopping ALL the debris that can clogg up the radiator, you are wrong, gotta keep the flums of the radiator cleanalso, most tries to settle to the bottom end of the radiator. Clean from the top to the bottom ..... take a look at this link < http://compacttractorreview.com/cs/forums/p/3110/14534.aspx#14534

Kubota a few years ago changed the temp sending units, one that took different OHMs to register on the guages. So that made the newer models look like they were running hotter, but actually not, just looked that way .... Like said before, if it's not in the red, it's ok !!!!
Also, your radiator fan will be cycling on and off during your running, which will show that everything in running fine ~~~~~~~~

OOOOOOOPS, Oh YesVermonter,

Welcome to the forum. Got in such a hurry trying to answer your question, got side-tracked !!!!!

Remember one thing, the more you run the RTV, the better and stronger it gets !!!!!!

Don't forget the high rise !!!!

Welcome Vermonter, This is a great forum with great folks. So how hot is she running? Two Guns is right about the radiator. It is somewhat hard to clean with a regular air nozzle. I ordered an extendable one with a curved tip from Northern tool ,but you can make one out of tubing bent by hand. I also run water thru the fins sometimes after blowing it out and still even more stuff comes out. Also make sure you don't have a blockage in the air intake or a dirty air cleaner . Thanks ,

compared to tractor its different. That never gets above 1/4 so by comparision this runs much hotter! but I love it !its a tank!
