I am looking for a soft top maybe a hard top for my 900 model RTV. Here is the list of what I have found. Am I missing anything? And, among the softtops, do you have any preferences?

Thanks,

Randy,

I think it is the same. It seems that any of the soft tops may not stay snug because of how the velco attaches in the front -- just seems to be a matter of time until it will loosen. I may go for the roto molded hard top because it seems to have a more positive attachment ...

Hi JohnRussell, I have the molded plastic hardtop. It is an oem Kubota. It is anchored to the roof supports with muffler type u bolts. I really like this top for several reasons. One reason is that It has molded grooves to help with water run off. The top is solid and heavy duty. I can actually stand on it (carefully). I weigh about 122 and it has never let me down. I run under tree limbs all the time and it hangs tough. What else can I say except that it will last as long as the machine. Be aware of other manufacturers though. Back years ago, I has another brand of machine (It started with a K too) it's plastic roof was similiar to a paper plate...just plain worthless... It was so thin that it held water in a sunk in space , and would dump water in your lap on take off. Good Luck with your choice though and these are my personal experiences with my Kubota roof . man it's times like this i really wish i had my hands on a rtv. i could make you a nice one out of 1/8th aluminum . the one i made for my rhino with the steroa and lights weighs about 40lbs total but it's a lifetime top. if someone close by had a rtv they would like to let me get a pattern off of it would be great i could knock out a rear bumper too.

I'd like to 2nd what bordercollie said. I like the OEM plastic roof. It's also a nice platform for mounting lights.

There seem to be two types of plastic roofs -- the OEM roof and then there is the aftermarket one in the link that is rotational molded. They both cost about the same, but the aftermarket molded one seems to be of thicker material.

I looked at the picture of the aftermarket and I see that is doesn't have a "lip" edge. Without that edge you will get a lot of water blowing right back on you. It will be like having a too short of an overhang on your house. Although I don't own the aftermarket, I would know the oem directs water away much better because of the lip ,channels and such.. My roof is plenty thick to stand up to my abuse and believe me I am tough on this machine. I really like it when a gully washer comes along and I have such a roof. And you said it was cheaper for the oem? I think it is a great value then.Go and check one out at the dealership. 2556 hrs Good luck... Bordercollie

I also have the oem Kubota plastic hard top. Have not tried standing on it (interesting image of that, Bordercollie...), but certainly am impressed with its quality. I think it is heavy ABS plastic, which I know from Old Town canoes and is nearly indestructable.

Also--note to Tommy: Any progress on the aluminum brush guards I want to purchase from you?
