RTV 900 reservoir

I need to know where I can find a hydraulic reservoir for a rtv 900,The tank I need is for the dump bed and implements. It is located just above the rear hitch and is about 2 to 3 gallon capacity and is made of plastic

dougy, Welcome! What are you going to be using the hydraulics for? The reason I ask,I have read that the plastic tanks can melt from overly hot fluid if used constantly. I THINK the newer models may be metal but aren't sure. I have seen tanks for sale at places like "surplus center " bordercollie

I just want to replace the factory tank, the factory tank has a hole melted in it where the fluid got to hot and blew the hose off and it melted a hole where the fluid was spraying against the tank

Check with RTV accessories it's a .com address. Use the search box type in hydraulic tank and it pops up for $204. plus ship and thats with a discount! Crazzzzzzzzy!. bordercollie

what is this tank made of?can you get some pictures or even send me the old broken one ?i might be able to make it cheaper .i don't know for sure but if it saves you money it might be worth it??

The plastic tank was one of the reasons I decided against the Hydraulic option. Seems like Kubota should recall these.

For future reference here is a picture of a tank for others interested later on. bordercollie

thanks bordercollie the pics are gret but if you can could you get me a better view of the side measurements.i'll try and put one together and send it to twoguns to see if it fits.but it looks like a simple build .

Jeepers, someone send Peanut their old tank so he can build one that would drop right in. He does have the talent, that is very obvious.

an old tank would be perfect that way i could make it right to specs and see the inside plumbing too.i really don't see why they make them out of plastic?having worked in the field of building hydraulic cranes for a living i know that hydraulics get hot when running them system and some like this shouldn't be made from plastic.then 200+ dollars for a new plastic tank jeeze it might cost them 5 bucks per tank to make in bulk assembly lines.

Peanut, I took some more pictures but the old tank, if someone has one, would be the way to go. With all the connector fittings and sloped mounting bracket on one side, that would save a LOT of grief. The sides are curved plastic so the measurements in the picture are just a rough idea.. Maybe doughy will check back in and see this. The picture showing the back with fitting placements wouldn't show up. bordercollie

the pictures are great but like you said it's the mounting hardware and connector locations and sizes that would be the problem.it would be simple if i had the tank but from pictures it would be a trail and era thing.

from your pictures i see two things that are working against the plastic box .one thing is it's plastic but the main thing i see is it's not really far from the exhuast and that is a heat source .not to good of a design there on botas part.

Remember these tanks were only designed for a dump cylinder or plow cylinder that was worked once in a while. If this one was hooked up to something running all the time or a valve is stuck open then the heat would be too much. I had no problems with my 08 RTV900. Perhaps there is another issue at play here.

I have considered putting 2 small cylinders (11 " closed ) on my now manually adjusted weed wiper. It would have to hold the wiper in various positions while wiping. Would this work or not with the RTV 's WS tank in ya'lls opinion? Thanks, bordercollie
