RTV 1100 ** Power ?

TWO GUNS

Is the new introduced Model RTV 1100 going to have that much more power ?. For my 900 is strong as a ox. I will say, it's no race horse on speed, but knew this when I purchased this unit !!! I strictly purchasedmy RTV 900for working my deer plots and hunting the plantation. Another thing, I have had so many folks say that the RTV weight is way so heavy. Some have even went to say that it is twice plus some of the wieght of other utility vehicles. I will admit, it might be a little heavier, but it carries it's own great , and also, sent them on thier way when they were showed the TRUE weights of the all the utility vehicles. Just cannot understand why so many folks slam the RTV so much. For yet, I have not found one flaw in mine, other than I wished I would have purchased it years ago. Seeing is believing, but owning a RTV is a BLESSING !!!!</P>

As I understand it, the RTV1100's bigger engine is there to handle the extra weight of the cab and the A/C. With those 2 things in play, the power will seem about the same as the 900 model.

Yep. The RTV is heavy. It varies by model (GP, Rec, WS...) but they're in the ballpark of 1900 pounds. For comparison, here's the weight of other commom Utility Vehicles.
Polaris Ranger = 1185
Yamaha Rhino = 1049
Polaris RZR = 945
JD XUV = 1383
JD HPX = 1000

As shown, it does weigh almost twice as much as others. I don't understand what others issues are with the RTV weight. Many that comment on it are those that want a recreational machine. (E.g. Rhino or RZR). Well, they can go play while I do my work. If trail riding, I'll catch up eventually. I do like to remind them that at the end of the day, I can easily carry the weight of almost every one of those machines in the cargo box of the RTV (which is manufacturer spec'ed at over 1100 pounds capacity) with no issues. For a couple of the machines listed above, the cargo capacity is what you can carry in beer (Rhino at 400#, RZR at 300#).

I do like to also mention the RTV is basically a work machine. The RZR and Rhino are play machines. The remainder are somewhere inbetween. Trying to compare them is like trying to compare a Peterbilt to a Porsche.

I also agree with bczoom, my rtv has exceeded my expectations and is basically bulletproof. A real workhorse.

I also agree. I couldn't do a fraction with my old 2001 Mule what I can do with the RTV. Love it love it . won't go back . It might be like the rabbit and turtle .I will always win with the RTV in the end when the day is done. It is one fine workhorse .. Humm That would be agood new name for my RTV.!! O.K. Workhorse it is!! Bordercollie[&]
