NO POWER NEW RTV900XT

Hi Everyone, just new to the forum. I just got a new RTV900XT and have only put 4 hours on it but it just doesn't have any power, even in low range. Any suggestions. I had to winch it up a 45 degree slope today because it couldn't pull the hill. Kept stalling out. Just me in it and no load. New fuel and tank full.
 
Rsaw, there is definitely something going on there. I can pull heavy stuff in high with my 2011 RTV 900.
I would check the spark arrestor (in the tailpipe by removing the bolts and then pull it straight out to see if the screen is sooted up) . Also make sure that the air cleaner intake isn't blocked. Is your dealer close? bordercollie
 
Thanks bordercollie, I'll check that out. Dealer about 1 hour away but closed on weekend. I'll call them tomarrow.
 
If your RTV seems like it's losing power, instead of mashing the pedal to the floor, back off on the pedal to about the half-way point. There's an aux pump that will kick on. You'll know you hit the sweet spot when the engine RPM's go back up and you feel a lot more power. You will lose speed but your power will be back.

Dealer coming to get the RTV900XT today, Ill let everyone know what they say about the power issue.
 
Please do, that is very unusual. Hope it's an easy fix or they give you another RTV900
 
Got my RTV900 back today and took it for a short ride and it seems to have more power. The dealer said they adjusted some cables and it seems to be doing better. I noticed when I drove it today that when I let off the gas petal I could fill the auxcillary pump knick in and I couldn't before. Hopefully the power problem is taken care of.
 
I sure hope so and from what you posted it does indeed sound like it's fixed. Hats off to the dealer for getting this taken care of properly. good job. :tiphat:
