massey ferguson 290 & hedgetrimmer

i am trying to connect an old teagle dynacut flail hedge trimmer to my fergy 290, it was previously on a leyland 272.

the problem i have is that the hedgetrimmer has two hoses to connect, standard trailer connection and a return hose.

I cant see how to connect the return hose to the fergy, any ideas please

Hi,

the return hose just needs to return the rear transmisson as I believe on your tractor the rear axle serves as the hydraulic reserviour.
You can put a fitting on the fill cap to return into there, anywhere that will get the oil back into the transmission.
We tend to run them a bit overfull when doing this as it sometimes takes the oil a while to get back into the sump.
