Logging In

Lately I have to log in again every time after I've closed my browser, even though I check the little "Remember Me" button. Any one else having this problem or is it specific to me and my Mac (Safari problem?)

I'm guessing that you are clearing cookies when you shut down your browser.
 
it accepts the cookies okay, but if it clears them when you close it you will have to log in once you start the browser back up.

I do not know where the setting is in Safari but all browsers have an option to clear cookies on shutdown. To be recognized next time you start up your browser at NTT and other sites you do not want your cookies cleared when you shut down the browser.

Not to confuse the issue but you also might have an option to clear cookies for all sites except those noted (ones you put in a list for the browser to keep) .... I believe most browsers also have that feature now.

Doc: I should have mentioned that when I close my browser and reopen it I can go back to the other forum sites I frequent and they always recognize me. I only have the problem with NTT. That is what made me think maybe NTT is Mac unfriendly.

I have a Mac also and it does the same thing. I can't find anything that I can do with the cookies either to stay logged in. I am alright on the other sites.

Same thing is happening here. Seems it just started doing this in the last few days. Cant really afirm that as I only notice it when I am going to post; but my LAST post on here was late last week and I did NOT have to log in at that time..........THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND WHAT YOU DO..........Dennis
 
Now, a few minutes after the above post, I relogged in, clicked the remember me box, went to another few sights on my favorites after closing this one down, and then clicked in my favorites to come back here.................IT WORKED CORRECTLY....magic.....Dennis
 
Still working Doc, even after I restarted to install a couple of MS updates..........We do a lot of puter work in our video editing and video shooting........This happens LOTS....something is workin just fine and then a problem develops.........one works and works to fix it......cant find the problem in order to fix it...........then all of a sudden it works without doing anything.............WE in the video industry call it "FM"..........."F...ing Magic"..........Applies here perhaps.........God bless........Dennis
 
I don't know whether Doc did something or I did, but suddenly I don't have to log in again every time I visit. Yeah!

at least your in. I've been trying for over 2 weeks and finally started again under a new name, The thing I hate most is those stupid questions, 13 minus 7 is what? answer 6 and it tells me no way.. Still cannot get a password to work even after numerous attempts and erasing the cookies,
 
Lamar, I had that problem a long time ago. I had misspelled my user name and I never checked the auto fill in feature of Firefox. Yep, that was it . I fixed that spelling in auto fill in and no more problems. And the site remembers me until I clear the cookies or all history on my computer. Bordercollie

I'll pass this on to Doc (system admin) to take a look at. What was your original user name and which would you rather keep?

I sent admin a message about 2 weeks ago, then twice more without so much a return email or other,,, Finally I decided to try under a new name which I wasn't really wanting to do,, I am very rarely active here or post,, I did however, check and read here at least 3 different times per day,, other name that I used was LarryRB, As I said erased cookies, did about everything I know, and when 13 minus 7 never adds up to 6, something is real wrong or I've been out of school too long,,
 
Six should have worked for that Larry .,... six or 6. I'm sorry for the issues and sorry I missed your emails. I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and had lots of junk email ... evidently I missed yours.
If you want me to try to fix your LarryRB account just say the word ...PM me or post here as Lamar.
 
I just noticed that a while back you asked for no notification emails / admin emails ect. This means you cannot use the system to change your password or be reminded of a forgotten password or change your email address or anything. I can remove that if you want emails ...but I can't do both (stop some but not others)
