Kioti DK50 binding issues

I have a DK50, around 2001ish, that binds (locks up) in 4WD when going forward and does the same thing in reverse when in 2WD. Any ideas, other than splitting the tractor? I'm thinking it's something with the selector forks but I'm hoping it's something simpler.

Welcome to the forum. Wish it was under better circumstances. :(
Please elaborate on "locks up". The tractor won't move?

That doesn't sound good. :(
I'd start with:
Using your loader bucket or jacks, get the front wheels off the ground.
Put the tractor in 4WD
Turn off the tractor.
Try spinning the wheels. Listen for noises starting from the front transaxle back through the drive shaft and its components all the way to the back.

I tried lifting the front end with the loader and sorting it with jack stands under the front axle. I don't really hear anything with it off though. The tires spin free going forward and backward. The ring and bevel gears all looked good, bearings are all new, etc in the front end.
I'm thinking of just removing the front driveshaft and going 2WD until I can get it serviced since the local Kioti service tech told me it'll be 2 months before he can look at it. I just don't want to wreck my transmission if there's something loose in there.

Can you "safely" just disengage 4WD using the 2WD/4WD controls?
What about your issue with 2WD in reverse? Think it's related? If you keep it out of 4WD, are you still at risk with the reverse issue?

I can disengage the 4WD and I've been gently using it that way but it still binds a little and I don't want to keep going back and forth. Plus, if there's something loose, it may eventually fall off or something and get chewed up by gears - while chewing up gears.

I can't see where removing the drive shaft is going to be much help. The shaft isn't the problem. You need to revisit the front axle with tires off the ground. When you turn one tire (either one, either way) what happens? When one tire rotates the pinion shaft (the one the drive shaft connects to) should also turn or if not the opposite tire should rotate in the opposite direction. No binding, or "locking up" should occur.

Explain how you know the ring an pinion, bearings and gears all look new? You haven't disclosed the whole story here.

I think removing the driveshaft will help because it doesn't bind when I back drag with the front end off the ground. I suspect the bind is in the front differential or the transmission, more likely the transmission.
The tires move in opposite directions when I left the front end and rotate by hand. There is no audible or tactile evidence of binding.
I originally suspected the ring gear and bevel gears in the wheel hub assemblies. I disassembled them and they're were no issues. I replaced the seals, bearings, races, etc. at that time.
