Just Picked Up a New RTV X1100C

Glad to be here among fellow Kubota Owners.
Just picked up a new RTV X1100C in orange. Now i'm just waiting on the New Boss V-Plow and VBX 3000 Salt Spreader.
I'm trying to break it in before making it work hard right off the bat. Any suggestion? I been driving it around to run the engine at different speeds. I have a UTV Hitchworks Receiver Extension & Transmission Cover on order. My Dealer in Asheville does not carry aftermarket products for the RTV. Bay & Amozon seem to be the best prices for these products. I've been reading lots of post and looking at pic posted and I'm quit impressed with Peanuts work, and others.
I have learned a lot here and hope to learn more.
For now, waiting on snow in the Great Smoky Mountains of Cherokee.

I live in an arid climate, approx 27-28 inches total precip. a year, but I cannot understand why an individual would need to spread salt on the ground or hiways. I can sorta understand a city doing it but not an individual? Can you explain? Welcome to the club.

Bryce,

Maybe he's doing commercial work. For the past few days I've saw several ATVs and UTVs in town commercially salting sidewalks and parking lots.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new RTV!!!

Shinnery - Not speaking for 1HOTDJ but salt is often needed on your own property.

The hills of NC where 1HOTDJ is all the way up to my place in PA (also hilly) gets a pretty decent amount of ice since it's common to have temps above freezing during the day then below freezing at night. That daytime melted ice re-freezes putting ice on driveways and such. That's super slippery. Salt or something is required to either melt that ice or have a rough surface so you have some sort of traction.

Welcome aboard Bud..........Wishing you had a dealer there to service your equipment; but there's lots of knowledge tucked away there in the coves, so I know you are gonna be just fine............

BC is exactly right, again not speaking for anyone; but, here on the western side of the "Smokies" my 1/2 mile road/drive is covered with ice for DAYS if I don't hustle out and get the snow off of it immediately. The freeze thaw cycle takes in some shady spots more than a week to get rid of the slips and slides.........God bless.....Dennis

Ok, to answer a few questions and comments. I have 35 accounts I plow for here in Cherokee & Bryson City area. Including 3 Post Offices, 2 Hotels, Cherokee Phoenix Theater, several fast food restaurants, Quality Plus Fuel station And multitudes of Streep driveways and a housing development (roads only).
I salt the all the businesses and a few steep driveways. The RTV is a great vehicle for plowing and salting. Most of the driveways have switchbacks that a truck or even a jeep have trouble plowing and turning. The RTV has a really sharp turning radius and just makes life a whole lot easier. The bonus this year will be keeping my butt warm. Last few years I've been plowing on a CanAm 800 with Tracks. Last year had an storm where I was out for 18 hours on the 4-wheeler, nearly froze.

Wow....VERY MUCH WELCOME ABOARD.....Gotta really welcome a fella who actually uses his machine to do work and not just come on here to say how much he has and how great he is.................
Anyway....Am over to or through your way several times a year, going through or staying around.....Folks don't understand that in the East there are mountains and the associated roads. I truly admire what you have to do as dealing with "tribal" folks, the lookee sees from Ohio, the Atlanta Yups, and the ol guys like me that hate to see all the trout streams over run with little kids in wading floaties.........So, yes, I can well imagine what you have to put up with as you do your work; but am enjoying learning about a problem that I had never even thought about....God bless.......Dennis

Welcome to the bunch! This group has been very helpful to me, I'm sure you will find the same.
Please try to download the first section of the owners manual that I posted. If it works for you, let me know. I'll finish scanning it and posting it.

In that manual it says not to drive it at full throttle for fifty!! hours!! I should have driven it to town I guess.

Anyway, welcome and please do post pics when you can.

Hmmmm..... I think almost all of the posters on this forum "do work" with their RTVs. The variety of the work they do creates a broad band of knowledge and experience. :)

Welcome to the forum! I don't make a living with mine or use it every day. I have enjoyed them since 04. Great machines that have made my chores much easier. Nothing like pulling the dump lever on a load of brush, dirt, gravel, etc instead of getting the shovel back out.
