Ok,after from being down an spset, spent, the score of my life,I'm not sure what's next.as I went to get a used head for my 04 rtv 900,I found a honey hole of engines an parts from a old friend, he gave me an entire new engine for the price of a head!!! So as I'm in the garage adding what I need before I swap motors, both motors are d902's ,mine is a 04 D 902e an the new one is a leftover only ran to check it but a 2019 d 902 e4....idk the difference.
I took off my mechanical pump an put it on the new engine which seems fine I saw a cam lobe for it an all seems ok.but now I'm ready to add the hydrolic pump an .............oh boy, please don't say I need to pull the entire front of the engines apart because I see a slot on the end of my old engine at the end of the cam...this new engine is just flat with a c clip.im hoping the c clip can be removed an mayb something like the end bearing changed,? Or do I need to brake down these engines an do I need to find help to change cams!!!? I'm scared now.im in the unknown area.....pics added below..I was almost going to just take the head off the new engine,an put it on my older one.but its a shame just keeping a brand new engine on the stand! Ideas anyone?
He sold me this entire engine for 400$ I had tears literally,an insisted I stayed at his shop an help him the rest of the day!
