Anyone have issues with the fuel gage, I have been driving around thinking it was sipping diesel, gage always full. I figured I better check the tank, a visual look see. Tank half full gage reads full??? banged on the gage connect reconnect, thump the tank no change?? sender unit stuck defective??? 15 hours on the machine.

Moosejaw, I experienced an erratic fuel guage indication when my RTV 900 XT was a few weeks old. Dealer sent me a repplacement gauge to install. He stated that there has been many issues with the fuel guage. The new gauge has corrected my issue.

Yep, call your dealer for a warranty replacement. My dealer that is located fifty miles away has helped me with four different warranty issues by sending me replacement parts for to install. This has saved me many miles in transporting the RTV. All were simple replacements.

I had to replace my guage at less than 200 hours. The dealer gave me printed diagnostic instuctions to determine if the problem was the gauge or the sending unit. See if he can give you that before hauling it back to the dealer.

I have had some issues with the sending unit mounting. The tank is shaped in an L fashion. The side with the fill neck is higher than the opposing side. Where the sending unit is mounted is the higher side of the tank. The fuel meter wouldn't move from full until you were around 1/2 tank. Fuel float was bottoming out on the top portion of the tank, on the lower side of the tank. This problem came about because the gage would show 1/4 tank but the fuel would be below the pickup not letting it get fuel. I tried to bend the arm on the float and found the opposite. It would read empty but only show 1/2 tank at full. Keep in mind all my volt readings were correct according to the book, and no deadspots in the rheostat.
