Discount Dealers Wanted

OEM parts are always expensive but there's almost always outfits out there that work on a higher volume, lower margin business model than the other, pricier model.

For buying Harley parts, there are several discount dealers that sold mail-order at a straight 25% off of list. The parts weren't cheap, but more affordable. I'm hoping to find a Kubota dealer with discount prices.

Is there anyone out there that can beats Messicks or Colemans?

I use my local dealer for little stuff and onsie, twosie stuff, but rebuilding the front knuckles leaves me with a bad case of sticker shock.

RLF, I agree w/ Mark!!! I just ordered a passenger side wiper (cuz my wife can't see w/ the rain n snow hitin' her side - I tell her she don't need ta see cuz I'm the one drivin'). The driver's side was $140 a couple of yrs ago - now the price is $165. I ordered 04 rtv turf model since then I've added a steel top, soft doors w/ windshield, bigger tires w/ aluminum wheels, HD struts, & a heater kit (& I don't know what else). All of the Kubota items I think are over priced. I things that I have added that are after market & I have had to adapt to fit myself r more reasonable & I have fun doing the install.
I'll keep u posted on the struts - it works for me.

I don't think it's just Kubota. I have friend who's a certified VW mechanic up here in the north country (had VW Jetta TDI) & he got me a fuel pump (at his cost) for $360. So, I'm assuming the retail (that the dealer would charge) would be in the neighborhood of $500+.
Another mechanic friend was replacing an axle seal on a Chevy Equinox & the $10 seal (90's prices)was $90 bucks from Chevy.
What can I say!!!!

I've seen you're work and I believe you. However, I think the oil seal in the front knuckles may be out of your area of expertise.

That inboard oil seal is over $50. Yikes!!!

yea an oil seal would be kinda hard for me obama is way out of the question it seems i was out voted on him. me and my brother do alot of offshore crane instalations and repair. if i had a bota to work on i'm pretty sure between my fabrication skills and my brothers hydraulic mechanical skills we could come up with something. been real buisy building hydrastatic well testeing units and slickline boxs for an oil company right now. i'm back working at thier shop right now and in my shop i'm building a gun locker for someone.another company has called to tell me they are working out a deal on some tanks and skids and want me to build them at my shop so i'll be here and there hopefully more here than there because it's nice to wake up and walk 50' to go to work .

Great to hear it.I havnt done as much as id like to lately as my MS has been raising hell with me.I still keep busy tinkering with things but steel is getting expensive as hell any more. They must be gold plateing it for the prices they want lol.
For a while I was trying to justify a plasma cutter but have put that off as I cant see spending the money for something that I wouldnt use that often any more.

Yea the price of steel is outragouse not to mention grinding bkades oxygen and acytelene.when the average person ask me to make something and i give them a price they di a double take.for friends and family they get good deals i give them a material list an tell them to go get it an do the work for free.for you guys in this forum i do it at cost the wife has no probkem with it as long as it dont cost me anything atleast she thinks it dont cost anything.when a build the stick stoppers i buy a sheet of plate for around 200.00 then a roll of wire for about 50 or60dollars depending on the price at the time.thena few grinding blades at 5bucks a piece and some buffing padsat about the same price.then comes the price of the argon/c25/oxygen/acytelene.when the gas runs out thats about200.00 plus dollars just for the acytelene its a good thing it last a little while.the oxygen is about25.00 to fill it an it goes fast so does the argon/c25and my trimix for the stainless jobs.then add up the bottle retal charge for all the bottle witch is about40.00a month because they hiy you with a hazmat charge for each bottle.and to top it all off you have the electric bill for the shop wich is a nice chunk of change because of the welding machines an my big hot box for my wire and rods. If it wasnt for the good paying jobs from the oil companies it would not be possible to make stuff for others at cost or below cost.out of one sheet of plate i make about 9sets of stick stoppers and i sell a set here and there they never go right away most times it will take a year or longer to sell them.to me i love building stuff its not a job to me its fun i enjoy it so when im workin im havin funan dont think of it as work.cutting grass an yard work is work to me.heck just about everything othrr than welding an fitting is work to me.

Tell me about it the costs have just plain sky rocketed. You can always tell when i fire up the Miller and do a stick welding job it shows up on the bill real fast. The wife is glad I dont do as much as I used to do just for the electric Bill lol.
All I do now is fix shit I break here so costs have gone down a lot there.
Hopefully it will be an easy winter and the plow dosnt need any welding on it but time will tell.As soon as I can catch up money wise from Christmas ill get a hold of you for a set of stick stoppers for the 900.I havnt had no problems yet but you never know what ill get into with the Bota.Tonight I made a spreader bar that goes in the back hitch and sticks out 2 feet and is 5 foot wide.% loops on it for ropes .I had to make this for the kids around here.I tie a rop on each loop for each sled and pull them through the snow.Seems like I used more fuel tonight than I did the last 2 plow jobs but the kids had a blast. The Bots serves every need I have from hauling wood, dirt.trailers, kids and its part time Tank.

Try a old 70's Chevrolet hood. It does wonders.
Flip it over. Has the lip on it which makes it " Tuned " for the sled job.
Gotta work. For before Mrs. Two Guns and I had the Kubota RTV. We used
the Honda Rubicons. And when the days were really good when we would
take many hogs and deer in one hunt. The Rubicon would haul wife, me, and one or two more on that machine. Others would be on hood being pulled by the Rubicon. And had has as many as four deer, hog, or mixed just on the hood. As long as you was moving, the hood acted as a sled that moved or "Sleded" on top of water. When you stoped, it would sink down. Take off, and the hood would
jump up and just glide on top of that swamp water. We called it the
"SKIDDER" ...
Bet it would work super on ice, snow, or both .........
A 'ole Cajun wouldn't know what to do with something like a bunch of snow. Probably try to stay warm !!!!:tiphat:
