I guess there's no real good cure for preventing axle boots from ripping. Are the axle boots on the RTV 1100 better protected? I'm thinking about buying RTV I want something more for working than riding, and I need something under 60" wide with real low speed pulling power. looks like the Rhino is the only one that has every thing I want, my concern is, will the Rhino fall apart when I hook on to my ATV trailer full of firewood.[/QUOTE]
Good Evening.
All Side by Sides has their good and bad.
If you want a work horse, get the Kubota RTV 900, and it is 60 inches wide.
Strong as a ox, has low pulling power, Hydraulic Tranny, ( NO BELTS ) will do everything you want to do with work. DOES NOT GOT FAST . If you must have a fast Side by Side, ....... Kubota is NOT the one to get.
Rhino, good vehicle. Goes fast. Will do some work, BUT, still not a work horse, but will do some things. ( BIL has one ) Not really that comfortable. But still, a good machine.... Gas Burner .... 62 inches wide. Belt driven >>>> More of a Sport Side by Side, in my opinion !!!!
Honda BIG RED ... gas burner. This also is a working vehicle. Pulls GREAT.
Has Hydro tranny, no belts to burn up. Pulls great !!!! We have several at
the hunting property. I like these vehicles .... They are a great machine.
Speed, runs about 40 MPH .... 64 inches wide ...
Honda Big Red has Automotive-style with hydraulic torque converter; three forward gears and Reverse; three drive modes: 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD with all-wheel differential lock !!!!
Best way to help protect the axle boots. Keep protectant spray on them to keep moist and flexable. Don't let get dry and brittle or crack up .
Buy boot savers and clean out as much as possible around boots to keep mud from drying and rubbing the boots and damage ....
These are only my opinions, with what experiences we have had ,,,, ...
