BX2230 HST Pedal Return

Had a problem for years with the HST pedal not returning to neutral or center. It never bothered me much but it almost caused the Mrs. a problem last weekend. She took her foot off the pedal to set the brake and it kept moving forward.

I checked the parts diagram in the service manual and I don't see any spring that you could replace. There is a grease fitting near the pivot point for the pedal and its possible it may be as simple as lube.

My questions are:
1. Is there a HST pedal center adjustment or spring hiding somewhere I could replace?
2. Has anyone else had and successfully fixed this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using UDT or SUDT? If only when warm, UDT can cause this and switching to SUDT may help.

Did you grease the zerk under the floor? There's a small flap on the floor rubber. Flip that up and there's a zerk in there.

I had the 600 mile service done by the dealer so not certain which UDT they used. I specifically requested they grease the fitting and adjust the HST. I am confident that neither of those got done. And since I have to dig in, I wondered if there was anything else I should check.
