Welcome to the forum. That's a common problem on the Gator. Do an internet search for "JD Gator overheating" and you'll get a ton of hits on the cause(s).

It should be under the bed, on the passenger side frame rail.

The dipstick should be near the PTO shift lever. The fluid fill cap is behind the seat. Did you get your carburetor issue fixed? If so, what resolved it?

Try pulling hard on the emergency brake, wait a few (up to 10) seconds then it should slide out. Mine does.

Do an internet search for "car starter testing near me". I've never had to do it myself but auto parts stores (e.g. O'Reilly's, Autozone...) all advertise they do free starter testing. I don't know of their procedure but would assume you just bring the starter in (not attached to vehicle)...

I was going to mention the MEP generators but due to parts and price, I couldn't really say. The good part is I think most run at 1800 RPM. Your heat pump is going to pull at least 3-4Kw plus the air handler.

Tell us more about your generator needs. How many Kw's? What do you have for fuel sources (diesel, gas, natural gas, propane)? Are you looking for a "whole house" or portable unit? A few thoughts. If you're going diesel, see if you can find one that runs at 1800 RPM's instead of 3600. If...

Mine was open frame. Also may have been a high RPM unit. 66db is pretty quiet.

I had a Kubota diesel. It was somewhere around 3KW. Man, that thing was LOUD!
