    New (Used) Tractor Overheating

I love backpack blowers but not on anything that has fins (e.g. A/C, Heat Pump, radiator...). I've bent the fins so that's no longer a place for that machine.

    Here's a "Talk About Anything" - II

We just finished a mid-west trip. Flew into New Orleans then criss-crossed our way all the way up to MN. 2500 miles and 11 States. Last month we went out west and hit all the major National Parks and points of interest in CA, OR and NV which was another 2500 miles.

    Here's a "Talk About Anything" - II

We're going to hit all the main military museums and sites (as well as other places of interest), from Huntsville down to the coast. We're going to cruise along the coast from approx. Mobile over to Apalachicola. We have a place on the east coast of FL, pretty close to Daytona so we're familiar...

    Yanmar 424 pto

I'd take that as a bonus! If you have to hop off the tractor while brush hogging to pick up a log, you don't have to shut the whole thing down. Also handy when running a post hole digger.

    Here's a "Talk About Anything" - II

Anyone got any advise on what to do in Alabama or Florida panhandle? The Mrs. and I are going to spend a week there coming up soon. Will be traveling from the Gulf up to Huntsville then back to the Gulf then head east into central FL. Looking for out-of-the-way sites (I think we're going to...

    7X14 cargo trailer and a RTV X1100C

7x14 - Is it a 3000# trailer or 7000# trailer? I'm betting on the 7K and also guessing it has brakes. Assuming the ramps aren't rusted through, I'd think they'd have no problem with the RTV. You're only talking about 700# per tire. As for getting out... First, I'm a firm believer of centering...

    No Start CK2510

Don't feel bad. It happened to me once. Darn winter boot or snow pants moved the lever when I got on. Good news is you've given your tractor a good preventative maintenance electrical inspection. :)

    No Start CK2510

Do you have a jumper box? If so, connect it to the starter solenoid and a good ground and try to start it. Check any/all connectors to the starter relay.

    No Start CK2510

The box says "Safety Control Unit". Not sure exactly what that means for your tractor. When my tractor encounters the no-start condition you've mentioned, it's normally a bad battery connection or the battery cables themselves. Try bypassing the battery cables by routing jumper cables in...

And did the light go out???

    Kubota RTV 1100 C diesel

Hmmm. I have a 2004 RTV900 and I've only run off-road/red diesel through it and have had no problems. You have an 1100 (different engine and didn't specify how new) so I really can't advise.

    What to say

Hi Bob. Welcome to the forum. Your IP shows LA. Don't get many tractor people from the city. What enticed you to join? I'm coming out your way soon. Fly in to CA then drive all over, mainly to hit National Parks.

    Lifting Humans

What's your plan to secure the cage to the forks to keep the cage from sliding off the end?

What does this warning light mean?

Isn't that your regular engine air filter?

    Lifting Humans

Pretty unsafe if you ask me. @Doc - for gutters, I just climb on the roof with a backpack leaf blower to clean gutters. I can do 100' in about 5 minutes.

    Hunting for parts

Welcome to the forum. I'd probably start with ebay. I did an internet search and there's sites that do sell parts. The entire grill assembly can get pricey. If you only need the frame or a couple of the screen parts, it may be a lot cheaper. I also saw there was a video on youtube that showed...

JD 670/770/790/870... maintenance items over the years

Forgot about the tie rod. I'm on #2. I too have front grill damage (a hole about the size of... a 2" branch ;) ) I have a new grill sitting on a shelf but saving that for if/when I ever decide to sell so the tractor looks fresh.

PTO lever stuck in operating position.

Sounds like the brush hog is keeping pressure on the the PTO connection. I'd try to disconnect the PTO shaft as the first step.

JD 670/770/790/870... maintenance items over the years

Please add any tidbits, suggested or preventative maintenance items as well as what you've had to fix. I have a 770 and it's been a great tractor but over the years, it's needed a few little things to keep it going properly. Engine Has been bulletproof and has required nothing but oil changes...
