I do like the smell of fresh cut grass!

Spring has arrived early over here! We've had a couple of spring fresh days and the icy cold has all but gone away for the time being so its a good opportunity to get outdoors and do some tidyup in the yard. Did some strimming along the fences and even gave the whole yard a once over with the...

    My ex-military Wagoneer

I bought the Mitsubishi Pajero (called "Montero" in USA) back in 2000 when I started building my house. I needed a work horse to pull trailers and use for general building work. It had a 2.5litre 115bhp turbo diesel engine with a 4 speed automatic transmission with O/D. We have a few dealerships...

I know. It was going to cost me more to drive over to the uk and trailer it back to ireland. I should have bitten the hand off the guy when we settled on his rock bottom price. He just wanted his shed cleared out. He didnt know what he had. We are all allowed to have one stupid decision in life...

    landrover 90

I'm not too sure about th 4x4's you've driven Mith but on the ones I've driven (even the old ones) the gears engaged positively and smoothly. If they dont slide into gear nicely then I'd be curious as to why... Finding the gear, you would expect it would take you a while to learn where they are...

"Vague" is a very good description for the steering on the LR's mith!! I've driven a few old landies and they all have the same steering characteristics.... Very slack, but good fun. A neighbour of mine has an old 88" with canvas roof. In the summer he takes it out for runs to the beach with...

    landrover 90

The chassis is the achilles heel of the older lr's mith. bring a small pointy screw driver with you when you go back there and poke all around the chassis. I toyed with buying myself an old 88 or 90 a few years back but of all of the lr's i went to see, the chassis was shot in just about all of...

    I need more input

I didn't get more than 20ft with my lil boat last year. Damned launch trailer practically fell apart when I went to move it. Its in a bad way. Need a new one. Neither fit or safe for road travel. Sigh... perhaps this year I might get it wet....... I had planned to build a new one but I ran out...

    First rain since March 15!

Sheesh, we've had practically nothing BUT rain over here. Probably one of the wettest years in recorded history. I wish I could sent a bunch of it your way, would gladly swop it for a week or two of dry weather.

No time for another project, so here it is....

I finally figured it out.... Mith.... you've won the lottery, quit your full time job and decided to live out all of our dreams by engrossing yourself in tinker time workshop duties for the rest of your life?? c'mon... admit it? Where else would you get all the free time to have so much fun...

Harbor Freight: Coupons, and recommended tools

I bought a 21° framing nail gun in HF about 5 years ago. Made by Grizzly. Fires up to 3.5 inch full round head nails. I recon I've put 100,000 nails through that gun and it has not given me any problems at all. The only issue I've had with it was when I dropped it off a ladder from 15 ft...

Help I broke my tractor in half!!!

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but I'm going to say it anyway..... I would have played dumb. You hit the representative with a very intelligent email but opened yourself up to litigation. Seems he's been through the lawsuit ring before and knows his way around. I would hand...
