    One of my hobbies!!

Wire damascus is a popular medium for making knives from. In some ways it is easier to forge a billet from but also has its drawbacks. I have forged some wire damascus, but as far as I am concerned...its still a work in progress.;) Its a skill I dont know if I will ever be good at, but who know.

    One of my hobbies!!

Thanks for the compliment! I usually try to use something like used lawnmower blades or auto leaf springs or I buy a knife blank. These are usually hardened already. However, if I do need to harden a blade I do have a gas forge that I use for heating the steel before the hardening quench...

    Is your shop/building/barn/garage big enough?

My main building 48 x 100 divided into two areas. The shop area is about a 1/3 of the total. I have to pick my way around stuff. The bigger area has a spot down the center that gets used for temp storage...the rest is...well, full. We have two other smaller buildings that we use, both about...

    What brand do you own?

I have seen a couple of the 1300D's The 3 speed PTO seems like it would be a plus to have. And I dont understand why the US models had to have the forward push throttle rather than the pull though maybe its because if you have hold of the throttle and make the tractor jump forward yu could...

How do you remove rust? Electrolysis?

Mostly I have sandblasted what I needed to get rust off of. And have used the navel jelly before. But the electrolysis bit sounds interesting. And did CA's idea of tumbling stuff in a cement mixer.
