How do I hook up a shredder

You know…I’ve never had the pleasure to own a Ford N tractor like yours, and so, some things look kind of strange to me. I mean the way it’s set up - and it could be the proper way or acceptable as everyone does it slightly different. For instance and certainly my humble opinion: The hydraulic...

How do I hook up a shredder

The way I set mine is by relaxing all the hydraulics and the top link pressure. I level the shredder…less about 5° lower in the front. Then I attach the top link and rock shaft lift arms and drive shaft. I don’t use the chain system when I use the top link. I’ve blown up your picture and the...

Air Filters - OEM Yanmar is much better than NAPA's 'will-fit'

Hmmm, that’s interesting. I’m wondering if Yanmar in referencing the ‘permanent’ wire wool and fabric, washable elements that you only occasionally see on a very few models? I can’t think of one supplier that still has, or can acquire those any longer.

Air Filters - OEM Yanmar is much better than NAPA's 'will-fit'

Good stuff California! I believe that the aftermarket, slightly ill fitting air cleaners have a direct connection to premature engine wear...rings specifically. Perfect fit OEM filters are a little pricey but cheap vs. a low hour rebuild for the top end of your engine. I think Wayne at LMTC...

    Mud sticking to tyres

Jim, Nothing shy of tilling the ground and adding tons of lime has fixed the very same problem for me. The clay soil, once saturated with rain, is like peanut butter (creamy, not chunky) in our neck of the woods. I haven't actually added lime to any of the soil other than two building sites...

    QUestion on loose generator wire

That....was a great post Dean! I've read it a few times and see many relative items that apply to a magneto to alternator conversion for early gas and diesel tractors.

    Seat belt - use it?

Welcome Bill, and may I say what an entrance! as safety is a concern for all of us :D! I can relate to your story about being on three wheels...different circumstances but the same results while unloading a Case TLB off of a low boy. Very scary even with seatbelts and a ROPS and I can imagine...

    Farmwithjunk's day off!

FWJ, No false praise from me…as usual, the depth and clarity of the shine in your first picture says it all. I’m of the same opinion about using fast reducers to combat the very cold elements…too fast, too much orange peel, less shine….and oh yeah, wet sanding and machine polishing (I hate that...

    Seat time = back pain?

Seems like if you've ever had any back problems, previous injuries or surgery...you are predisposed to have problems while operating tractors. I love working on any number of mine and their applications - but it's an hour tops before I can't stand it any longer. Have to turn over the wheels to...

I never thought I needed a bigger tractor until ...

Hey CA., As 20-20 solutions are mostly hindsight...The damage to the soft ground might have been far less if you could have snatched the Tank (if it is Poly or some other light material) off his truck...maybe? Always been insulted by people (like your driver) who don't listen and think their...

    Rusty MIG wire

As skeptical as I am about most products that “Claim” the miracle fix…and the additional claims on the little can of Lube-Matic, ALL I wanted was something to prevent the new wire from rusting, and it does. I don’t believe there’s any product available that will reverse the oxidation process...

    Rusty MIG wire

Firm believer in over-kill.....it ALWAYS works :D !! For me, saving a 30# roll of .023, .030, or .035 wire is way better than tossing it.
