Okay, thanks for that. I saw the bed has handles, so I assume that's just a lock mechanism, the bed is lifted by hand and then some type of prop then holds it up?

This is on a RTV 1100C. First time on this machine, in pouring down rain, trying to access the engine. I couldn't figure out the trick to tilt the bed. Any help here?

Sounds like the dealer doesn't really want to do much for you. "Sanding the rust off" is more of a stall than a fix. And yes, it doesn't make sense to work when cold then act up. Something in there "ain't quite right".

Still under WHAT warranty? Warranty is short lived and awfully picky when dry clutches are involved. If your dealer says it's covered, you better get him on it before that changes. The longer you wait around fooling with it yourself, the better the chances you wind up holding the bag.

The subject matter is a possible internal leak on a power steering valve. How does that translate to engine damage if a novice "tries it?"

I doubt a rebuild kit will solve the problem. Nothing you can buy for that valve is worth $600. The oil leak pictured is most likely just an O ring seeping, and not likely anything to do with operation of the loader. Look closer at the valve, and see how many hoses connect it to the tractor. It...
