MF 1010

I'm looking at my first diesel tractor and have found a MF1010 4wd with hydrostatic and FEL and has about 750 hrs. I know this tractor was made for MF by Toyosha and want to know in general are the most typical service parts readily available? Any particular concerns with this unit and the hydrostaic transmission or engine I need to be concerned about? Tractor starts up quickly and smokes for just few seconds then clears, no bubbling in the rdiator and no apparent blow by based on the oil cap test.

I've never even seen a MF1010.
But generally speaking, all diesels will smoke right after start up. At 750 hours it sounds like it's barely broke in.
How many HP is it? what year is it? Share the price if you don't mind, it helps with folks in the know offer advice.

It may not have many hours on it, but the age factor creeps in. Things like belts, hoses, filters, ETC most likely can be found. Bearings and seals are mostly generic anyway so they're available. Internal engine parts (should you ever need any) would be questionable at best. Shafts, gears, and castings will more likely only be used or salvage.

Hi Doc - I was aware the diesel should smoke a bit a start up I was glad to see that it cleared up after a few seconds. It is a 16 HP engine ( early 90's I believe) and asking price was about $4K with the Bush Hog 1840T FEL and it had a Woods RM59 finish mower already attached and looked to be in good condition, also had a tiller attachment although I didn't notice the condition. Yes, seems like a outstanding deal but want to make sure I don't walk into a situation where if it has issues or needs a major repair down the road it will cost me an arm and leg to fix.

I need to confirm that the hour meter does in fact work and is accurate. The engine sounded great the brief amount I heard it run. The FEL raised an lowered fine as well as the 3 pt which already had some weight on it with the finish mower. Do you know if it has a separate hydraulic pump for the 3 pt and FEL or does it use the same pump that the hydrostatic uses? Hoses & belts I'm not worries about, just the hard parts like you mentioned I'm concerned about.
