RTV Snowblower

Just remember when you or your wife are driving this vehicle it is a beast, you really have to have your eyes peeled when you're snow blowing. You hit anything with this machine it will do some real damage to whatever you hit. Just remember it's a hard-working piece of farm machinery not a toy. When you take it in for the recommended service, it will cost you anywhere from $500 to $750
With the heater there's nothing better than snow blowing in the morning in your pajamas.
I couldn't resist. I put it into the snow last night. I went in to a snow bank that was blown there by my tractor when it was wet, and immediately broke shear pin on the fan. But after I replaced I kept blowing into same bank and no more problems. Maybe the shear pin was loose?
Think the wife and I are going to be very happy. My concerns of it being underpowered are gone. I was blowing full blower width and height no problem and blowing it a decent distance.

Only problem I notice now is the PTO light on the dash does not light up when PTO is engaged? But I have no idea how to diagnose that, there is so much electrical in relays in this thing now.
I'll wait until summer, not hauling back to dealer again in the salt.
Just remember to make sure the dealer knows about the light not working for the PTO and have it in writing if you can so you can take it back and they fix that in the spring without charging you

No worries about the service. I do that myself. It should have a pretty easy life. I'll still use the Kubota tractor to snow blow all the bad spots.
Thanks for all the info.

Now my only complaint, (are you listening Kubota?) is one of the dash controls or the blower controls are illuminated. So until you have everything memorized you have to keep putting interior light on.
I haven't looked to see what style bulb is interior light, but maybe I can do like I've done on some of my past semi's and get a blue or purple bulb for it so it's enough to light up dash and no glare in windows.

Thanks Westfield. I have all except the PTO Drive Kit with K-Connect.

My dealer tells me that does not exist even though I sent them a picture of it you gave me. I contacted Kubota Canada. We'll see if they care.

And as for my interior lighting, last night I found some purple tinted 194 bulbs I used to have in my 1988 Mack R Model. I put one of those in the dome light, so now it gives just enough light to see all the controls, but no glare on the windows.

Here's a pic of how the mechanic had the hydraulic lines on blower chute....pointed downwards. You would think one would be able to see the hydraulic lines actually hitting the snow blower housing and bending??
I re-orientated all the fittings and placed an order for warranty replacement.

Now just have to figure out why PTO light on dash display not illuminating.

maybe these will help. Let us know if you figure it out. The jpg only confirms that it is not wired to a switch/relay by default. If I downloaded the correct owner's manual, it does tell you how to wire it up and also has a drawing showing the layout of the harness.

Thanks a lot Plumcrazy! I was gunna wait until I get it back to dealer in spring but maybe I'll have a look myself now.
I'm still waiting on getting all the manuals.

Dealer really dropped the ball this time. It's a good thing I went over it myself when I got it home. I already replaced a hydraulic line they damaged and found the gear reduction box on rear of blower completely empty of oil.

I just sold a 2019 lightly used RTV snowblower 2 weeks ago for $3500. I had called a local dealer to find out how much it would cost to put the PTO and brackets onto an RTV and it was about $10,000. I had a friend who was interested in the blower, but the cost of the PTO was a deal breaker. I bought the blower from a person in Maine who replaced it with a plow because the plow was faster. At the time he was on the fence about selling the RTV and buying a truck, but that didn't happen, and I had just the blower. I was glad to see it out of my machinery shed.

Did you check the front box? I have a BX2822 which is the 55" version of your blower, but all the mechanical parts are the same. I drain and refill both gearboxes every summer when the oil is warm and flows out with ease. The front one especially is important because it always has water in it. When the gearbox gets warm and then cools it draws in the moist air and it condenses at the bottom of the gearbox. There is also a grease fitting on the large gearbox on the top right behind the sheet metal of the blower. It is important to keep that fitting greased.

Yes, it's an over-comlicated system and not cheap. But blowing works better for me.
My RTV and F550 both with Boss vee plows always sat while I used tractor and blower.

Yes, auger gear box was good, reduction box was empty and PTO drive box was down 100 ML.
They greased auger shaft and none of the K--Connect was greased.
I was not happy.
