I purchased and installed a turbo for my rtv900. I took it elk hunting in MN two years ago, without the turbo, and it did not do well at all. It smoked very heavy and did not do good on some of the steep rocky trails we were using. The altitude is about 8500 feet. I installed the turbo myself in about 1/2 a day, and made the recomended adjustmens. Took it back in 2010 and I could not beleive the difference. It worked just fine. Back at home in NW Arkansas, the elevation is about 1200 feet. I did not change any of the adjustments and it does very well here. I do not know how fast it will go with the turf tires on it, because the speedometer only goes to 30 and the needle goes past that. With the turf tires before turbo it would go 25mph. With the 27 inch heavy lug tires on it, the speed is 29 or 30 on flat ground. Seems to have plenty of power at either location. Turbo kit cost about $2000.00 and I put it on myself. My hunting buddy has an 1100 and he had the same problem, he had the dealer put a turbo on his and it seem to help alot as well, but his cost about $4000,00 installed. His still smokes more than mine in NM but that may be an adjustment issue. Bought turbo at rtv depot, was very easy to install if you can follow directions. At first I thought it was going to be too much of a job, but took it slow and made sure I knew what I was doing and it went better than expected. The directions were very good, and had pictures. Also put in a coast valve from rtv depot and really like it alot, but I usually put the original one back in if I am in the mountains, so I do not have to use the breaks as much.
