.....The dealer also gave me the heavy duty struts. I miked the spring diameter on the old and the new and the new heavy duty springs are indeed larger in diameter. Not by much, but bigger. The old ones have a white marker on the springs and the new have a red marker.

Yup! Looking at the install instructions that came with mine. Red marker on the HD springs and the special tool required are spring compressors.

Just a FYI. Most car parts stores will loan you the spring compressors for free. You just have to leave your CC# (in case you don't return them) and they'll let you borrow them for a day or 2.

Thanks for all the advice. My Auto Zone store has the compressor for loan. However, they were fresh out of elbow grease and did not have a shade tree I could use. Guess I"ll have to settle for a shot of WD-40 on the old elbows and pick a cloudy day. Thanks, Captain

Buying the whole strut is not dramaticly more expensive. We don't mess with springs, its not worth the time.

HARBOR FREIGHT HAS A SPRING COMPRESSOR FOR $14.00 ,SPRING S RUN ABOUT $80.00, JUST SAY $100.00 -+ YOU STILL WILL SAVE $100.00 -+ TO GET THE SPRINGS AND DO IT YOUR SELF OR IF YOU BORROW ONE TOOL THAT EVEN BETTER

SO MESSICK FARM EQIUP ,HOW MUCH YOU SELL THE SPRING/STRUT FOR
