    low budget leaf vac

The blower is a 5 HP chipper/shredder but it creates enough draft it works good as a fan and chops the leaves even finer. I had to take the grate bar out as it reduced the draft too much. TSC wanted $1200 for the same thing. I paid $75 for the chipper and $ 128 for the hose, everything else I...

new to having a narrow machine

Most tractors you take the rear wheels off and switch sides w/ the lugs still pointing the right way and that will extend them out a few inches. This is due to the wheel center not being in line w/ the tire center. Makes quite a difference in stability. I think they're shipped that way so they...

    Stuck clutch on 620

Before you split it,try putting it in the fastest gear and have someone tow it while you control it w/ the switch off and the clutch disengaged. When it's going approx. 3-4 mph step on both brakes hard to see if engine inertia will break it loose. OH,and next time park it w/ the clutch...

    One of my hobbies!!

Those are really nice!! A fellow I worked w/ yrs ago made knives from old, rusty wire rope. He mixed up his own flux to weld the wires together. He claimed old wire rope made the best knife blades because it is so hard yet resilient. Mike

How do you remove rust? Electrolysis?

I like the cement mixer idea, tho w/ nuts and bolts I don't think sand would be necessary. Them rubbing against each other would be enough and I would only tumble them long enough to clean them. I would think after too long the bolt threads would be almost useless. I'd also use diesel w/ them so...

    Caterpillar 60 - from 80 years ago

Yeah,Mith, they are a blast to operate. But after so many years they're hard on the body but not so much w/ the newer ones. I learned on the ones made from 1950 to 1970. Believe it or not,the bigger they are the easier to learn to run. Mike
